Rom began in 1979 as a Marvel tie-in to a Parker Brothers toy, with Bill Mantlo and Sal Buscema building a 75-issue run about a cyborg hunting the Dire Wraiths before ending in 1986. IDW revived it in 2016, and Skybound continued it in 2026.
