# VerseDB > A comic book database: titles, series, issues, creators, characters, teams, story > arcs, publishers, comic shops and podcasts, plus the collections, lists, pull lists > and reviews members build on top of them. The catalog is hierarchical. A title is a franchise, such as Batman. A series is one volume or run inside it, such as Batman (2016). An issue is a single published comic, and it takes its publisher from its series rather than carrying one of its own. Creators, characters, teams, story arcs and key issues attach to that spine. The catalog is served as JSON as well as HTML. A catalog page spends most of its bytes on markup a model discards, so the two endpoints below are the cheaper read. ## Partnerships and licensing - [Partner with VerseDB](https://versedb.com/partner): integrating VerseDB into a product or service. - [Data licensing](https://versedb.com/developers): licensing the catalog for commercial use. ## API - [Reference](https://versedb.com/api/docs): every public endpoint with its request and response schema. OpenAPI at https://versedb.com/api/docs.openapi, Postman collection at https://versedb.com/api/docs.postman. - [Getting started](https://versedb.com/support/api/getting-started-with-the-versedb-api): personal access tokens are free to create. A Pro subscription raises the rate limits, it does not unlock endpoints. - [Rate limits](https://versedb.com/support/api/understanding-api-rate-limits) - [What the API does not cover](https://versedb.com/support/api/whats-not-available-in-the-api) ## MCP - [Server](https://versedb.com/mcp/api): streamable HTTP, OAuth, POST only. Search and read the catalog, and manage your own collection, lists, pull list and reviews. Requires a Pro subscription. - [Setup](https://versedb.com/support/apps/versedb-mcp) ## Crawling - [Sitemap index](https://versedb.com/sitemap.xml): every indexable URL, split by entity type. - [robots.txt](https://versedb.com/robots.txt) There is no /llms-full.txt. The catalog is far too large to serve as one file — use the sitemaps to enumerate it and the API to read it.
