DESCRIPTION
Published in 2007 by Marvel Comics, 'Endangered Species' was a crossover storyline primarily featured in the X-Men titles. Written by Mike Carey, with art contributions from various artists including Chris Bachalo and Scot Eaton, the arc served as a follow-up to the events of 'House of M' and 'Decimation.' The storyline focused on the dwindling mutant population, following the Scarlet Witch's reality-altering declaration of 'No more mutants,' which left only 198 mutants with their powers intact. The story centers on Beast's quest to find a way to reverse the effects and save mutantkind from extinction. Key characters involved include Beast, Cyclops, Emma Frost, and the X-Men. The storyline was serialized across several issues of 'X-Men,' 'Uncanny X-Men,' 'New X-Men,' and 'X-Factor.' The arc was significant for its exploration of themes of survival and extinction, and it set the stage for future X-Men events. The storyline was collected in a single volume and received mixed to positive reviews for its character-driven narrative and exploration of complex themes.
