DESCRIPTION
Published from 1986 to 1987, 'Legends' was a six-issue limited series by DC Comics, written by John Ostrander and Len Wein, with art by John Byrne. This crossover event followed the aftermath of 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' and was pivotal in shaping the post-Crisis DC Universe. The storyline revolved around Darkseid's attempt to discredit Earth's superheroes by manipulating public perception against them. Key characters included Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and the newly introduced character, Captain Marvel (Shazam). The series also marked the debut of the modern Suicide Squad and the introduction of the new Flash, Wally West, as well as the new Justice League. 'Legends' had a significant impact on DC continuity, setting the stage for future storylines and series, including the launch of 'Justice League International.' The series was well-received for its engaging plot and character development, contributing to the revitalization of DC's superhero lineup in the late 1980s.
