The plot centered around the Manhunters, ancient androids created by the Guardians, who infiltrated Earth and attempted to sabotage the Guardians' plans. Key characters included Green Lantern, Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, as well as a host of other DC superheroes who were targeted by the Manhunters. The series explored themes of trust and betrayal, as many heroes discovered that people close to them were secretly Manhunters. The event spanned multiple DC titles, including 'Action Comics', 'Detective Comics', and 'The Flash', among others. 'Millennium' had a significant impact on the DC Universe, introducing the New Guardians and setting up future storylines. The crossover was notable for its ambitious scope and the way it integrated various series into a cohesive narrative.
