Understanding the Content Lock System

Why Content is Locked

VerseDB prevents editing conflicts by locking content when someone is editing it.

Lock Types

🔒 Editing Locks

  • Duration: Short-term (typically 5-15 minutes)
  • Purpose: Prevents conflicts during active editing
  • Released when: You submit, cancel, or the lock expires

🔐 Submission Locks

  • Duration: Longer (during review process)
  • Purpose: Prevents edits to content with pending submissions
  • Released when: Edit is approved or rejected

What If Content Is Locked?

If you try to edit locked content, you'll see:

  • Who is currently editing
  • When the lock expires
  • Option to wait or come back later

📌 Locks expire automatically, so check back soon!
