Rage is Elvin Daryl Haliday, a Brooklyn kid whose exposure to dumped chemical waste left him with the body of a grown man and enormous strength. Larry Hama and Paul Ryan created him for The Avengers number 326 in 1990.
He forced his way into the Avengers' orbit by calling the team out on its lack of Black members, and was cut back to trainee once they learned his real age. He found a lasting home with the New Warriors.
