Empath

Empath is a Marvel Comics mutant with the power to psionically sense and manipulate the emotions of those around him. Born Manuel Alfonso Rodrigo de la Rocha, he debuted as a member of Emma Frost's Hellions in New Mutants #16 (1984), serving as a persistent antagonist and rival to the New Mutants. His ability to reduce individuals to a zombie-like emotional state, combined with diagnosed antisocial tendencies, makes him a uniquely dangerous and insidious presence in the X-Men corner of the Marvel universe.
