Niko

Niko is the central character of Black Beacon, the Heavy Metal science fiction series by Ryan K Lindsay and Sebastian Piriz. She is a human historian who leaves Earth and travels across the cosmos after a mysterious beacon broadcasts a signal promising refuge and a better life.

She arrives at a vast Dyson sphere expecting sanctuary, only to find an overcrowded and lawless station where survival is the only real currency. As a newcomer with no place secured, Niko has to work out who can be trusted while carrying a secret tied to her own journey.
