William Stryker is an anti-mutant zealot created by Chris Claremont and Brent Anderson for the 1982 graphic novel X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills. A former soldier turned preacher, he came to see mutants as an affront to God and built a following around wiping them out. He founded the Purifiers.
