Ricardo Jones was a scientist driven by envy of Reed Richards who devised a method to absorb Ben Grimm's powers, becoming a duplicate of the Thing. During a Fantastic Four expedition, he had a change of heart and sacrificed himself to save Richards, later remaining in the Negative Zone.
