Anton Vanko was a leading Soviet inventor who built the original Crimson Dynamo armor and its electromagnetic weaponry, debuting in Tales of Suspense #46 in 1963. Sent to destroy Iron Man, he instead defected and became an ally of Tony Stark. His armor became a legacy identity for later operatives.
