A German Shepherd who became one of the first great animal stars of the American screen, Rin Tin Tin moved from silent films to television in The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin, which placed him at a cavalry post in the old West alongside the orphan boy Rusty. Dell brought him into comics in the 1950s.
