Kankuro is a shinobi of Sunagakure in Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto, the middle of the three Sand Siblings between Temari and Gaara. He fights as a puppeteer, working armoured marionettes on chakra threads from a safe distance with blades and traps hidden inside them.
He first appears as an antagonist during the Chunin Exams. Kankuro later becomes a jonin of his village and one of Gaara's most fiercely protective allies.
