Tex Willer
Description
Tex Willer is the protagonist of the Italian comic series Tex, created by writer Gian Luigi Bonelli and artist Aurelio Galleppini. He first appeared on September 30, 1948, and the series has been in continuous publication since, making it one of Italy's longest-running and most popular comics.
Tex is a former outlaw turned Texas Ranger with an uncompromising sense of justice. He patrols the American frontier, fighting bandits, corrupt officials, and supernatural threats. After marrying into the Navajo nation, he was given the name Eagle of the Night and holds the position of tribal chief, giving him dual authority in both white and Native American society. His core companions include Kit Carson, his son Kit Willer, and the Navajo warrior Tiger Jack.
The series was further developed by Gian Luigi's son Sergio Bonelli, who shaped the character into a national icon. Tex is enormously popular across southern Europe, South America (particularly Brazil), and Scandinavia, with translations into dozens of languages.
