Buck Jones is a two-fisted western hero based on the real-life film star Charles Frederick Gebhart, who performed under the stage name Buck Jones. Following his death in 1942, Dell Comics adapted the cowboy persona into his own comic book series in the early 1950s. The character carries over the frontier justice and rugged heroics that made the original screen cowboy famous.
