Hiro Mashima is a Japanese manga artist who debuted in 1999 with Rave Master in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine. His best-known work, Fairy Tail, ran from 2006 to 2017 and has sold over 72 million copies worldwide. Mashima received the Kodansha Manga Award in 2009 for Fairy Tail and continued serializing new work without interruption for over two decades.
