Spanish cartoonist Francisco Ibáñez Talavera began his professional career at Bruguera in 1957, where he created Mortadelo y Filemón in 1958 for the children's magazine Pulgarcito. The series grew into the longest-running Spanish comic, with over 200 titles translated into dozens of languages. Ibáñez also created Rompetechos, 13 Rue del Percebe, and Pepe Gotera y Otilio, producing an estimated 50,000 pages across his career. He remained active until shortly before his death in 2023.
