Shuichi Shigeno is a Japanese manga artist born in 1958 in Niigata Prefecture. His racing series Bari Bari Densetsu won the 1985 Kodansha Manga Award. Initial D ran in Weekly Young Magazine from 1995 to 2013 and sold over 56 million copies.
