Akira Hiramoto is a Japanese manga artist born in 1976 who debuted in 1995 in Weekly Young Magazine. He is best known for the comedy Prison School, serialized from 2011 to 2017, which won a Kodansha Manga Award and was adapted into an anime. Earlier he created Me and the Devil Blues, a historical drama inspired by the life of American blues musician Robert Johnson, which received a Glyph Comics Award for its English release.
