Bill Watterson is an American cartoonist who created Calvin and Hobbes, one of the most widely syndicated newspaper comic strips in history. The strip ran from 1985 to 1995 and depicted a boy and his stuffed tiger through adventures mixing childhood imagination with social commentary. Watterson refused all licensing and merchandising of his characters throughout the run.
