Frank Thorne

American comic artist whose energetic, fan-favorite run on Red Sonja for Marvel Comics in the 1970s made him a convention fixture and helped define the character's look. Thorne began his career in the 1950s working across multiple publishers and genres before his Red Sonja breakthrough. He later created the adult humor strip Moonshine McJugs and was a vocal advocate for creators' rights throughout his career.
