Mike Richardson is an American publisher and writer born in 1950 who founded Dark Horse Comics in 1986 after owning comic book retail stores. He launched the publisher with the philosophy that creators should retain rights to their work, and under his leadership Dark Horse published Sin City, Hellboy, and major licensed properties including Star Wars and Aliens. Richardson also founded Dark Horse Entertainment, which produced films including The Mask. He was inducted into the Overstreet Hall of Fame in 2010.
