Biography

Japanese manga artist (1966–2021) best known for Berserk, a dark fantasy manga he began serializing in 1989 that accumulated over 60 million copies in circulation. He received the Award for Excellence at the sixth Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2002. Berserk was continued posthumously in 2022 based on plans Miura had shared with his collaborator Kouji Mori.
