Raina Telgemeier is an American cartoonist widely credited with helping build the modern middle-grade graphic novel market. Her autobiographical webcomic Smile became a bestselling Scholastic Graphix book in 2010, followed by the companion memoir Sisters and the fiction title Drama. She also adapted several volumes of The Baby-Sitters Club into graphic novels. Her work has earned multiple Eisner Awards, including Best Writer/Artist, and has sold many millions of copies.
