How the Contribution & Approval System Works

VerseDB uses a contribution system that rewards users for helping improve the comic database. When you submit edits, they go through an approval process, and approved contributions earn you XP.

The Contribution Flow#

  1. You submit an edit - Add or update information about a series, issue, character, or creator
  2. Edit enters the queue - Your submission is reviewed by moderators
  3. Approval decision - The edit is approved, rejected, or sent back for revision
  4. XP awarded - Approved edits earn you XP
  5. Email notification - You'll receive a daily email summary of your approved/rejected edits

What You Can Contribute#

  • Series information - Add missing series or update details
  • Issue data - Add issues, update release dates, prices, and credits
  • Character profiles - Add characters or update their information
  • Creator profiles - Add creators or update their biographies
  • Cover images - Upload missing cover artwork
  • Story arc connections - Link issues to story arcs

The Review Process#

Note

All edits are reviewed by moderators who check for accuracy before approval. This ensures the database maintains high quality standards.

Tips for Getting Approved#

  • Be accurate - double-check your information
  • Use reliable sources (publisher websites, official announcements)
  • Follow the content guidelines
  • Include all relevant details
  • Add notes explaining your sources
  • Guess at information you're not sure about
  • Copy text directly from other sources
  • Submit incomplete entries when more data is available
  • Rush submissions without reviewing them
