What is VerseAI?#
VerseAI is an AI-powered assistant built into VerseDB that helps you discover comics. It's like having a knowledgeable comic shop employee who knows your entire collection and reading history.

What Can You Ask?#
VerseAI can help with:
- Personalized recommendations — "I loved Saga. What else would I enjoy?"
- Reading orders — "What's the reading order for Court of Owls?"
- Starting points — "Where should I start with Spider-Man?"
- Discovery — "Recommend indie comics with strong female leads"
- Deep cuts — "What are some hidden gems similar to Sandman?"
How VerseAI Knows Your Taste#
VerseAI uses your VerseDB data to personalize recommendations:
- Your collection — comics you own
- Your reading history — what you've finished
- Your ratings — what you liked and didn't
- Your pull list — series you're following
The more you use VerseDB, the better VerseAI understands your preferences.
How to Access VerseAI#
- Make sure you have a PRO subscription
- Look for the lightning bolt icon in the bottom-right corner of any page
- Click to open the chat box and start a conversation
On mobile, the chat opens in fullscreen automatically. On desktop, you can click the expand button to go fullscreen.
Context-Aware Actions#
When you're viewing a series or issue page, VerseAI knows what you're looking at. You'll see quick action buttons like:
- Add to Collection — add the current issue to your collection
- Add to Wishlist — save the issue for later
- Follow Series — start following the series
Just ask VerseAI to perform these actions, or use the quick action buttons that appear.
Tips for Better Results#
- Be specific about what you're looking for (genre, tone, themes)
- Mention comics you've enjoyed for comparison
- Ask follow-up questions to refine recommendations
- Keep your collection and ratings updated for more accurate suggestions
Managing Your Chat#
- Clear chat: Click the trash icon in the header to start fresh
- Fullscreen: Click the expand icon to go fullscreen (or tap outside to exit)
- Close: Click the X or the lightning bolt icon to close
Your conversation history is saved automatically, so you can pick up where you left off.
