Dynamite Entertainment is an American comic book publisher founded in 2004 by Nick Barrucci as the publishing division of Dynamic Forces. The company specializes in licensed adaptations of classic and contemporary properties including pulp heroes, sci-fi franchises, and horror icons.
From its inception, Dynamite focused on high-profile licensed content, launching with Army of Darkness before expanding into titles like Red Sonja, The Shadow, Vampirella, and The Boys. The publisher quickly gained recognition, earning Diamond Gem Awards for Best New Publisher in 2005 and Comics Publisher of the Year in 2006. Collaborations with renowned creators such as Alex Ross, Garth Ennis, and John Cassaday have bolstered its reputation for quality storytelling.
Dynamite owns an extensive character library of over 3,000 properties acquired from Warren Publishing, Harris Comics, Charlton Comics, and Chaos! Comics. In 2022, Dynamite partnered with Disney to publish comics based on Gargoyles, Darkwing Duck, Lilo & Stitch, and other properties. A 2023 deal with Warner Bros. Discovery added Hanna-Barbera titles including ThunderCats, Space Ghost, and The Flintstones to its lineup.
