Gargoyles: Dark Ages (2023)

A six-issue prequel miniseries set in medieval Scotland, written by Greg Weisman with art by Drew Moss and covers by Clayton Crain. The story begins in 971 AD, twenty-three years before the Wyvern Massacre that would leave the Manhattan Clan frozen in stone for a thousand years.

Subtitled "Alliance," this arc follows the Wyvern Clan during their early partnership with Prince Malcolm, exploring the origins of the gargoyles' relationship with the humans they would come to protect. Each issue features bonus prose content by Weisman with spot illustrations, expanding the lore of the Gargoyles universe.

The series provides crucial backstory for longtime fans while remaining accessible to new readers, depicting how the clan lived and fought before the tragedy that defined their fate.
