The Invisibles
Description
The Invisibles are a cell of the Invisible College, a secret society devoted to resisting physical and psychic oppression, at the center of Grant Morrison's Vertigo series of the same name. Operating through time travel, ritual magic, meditation, and direct action, the cell is led by the enigmatic King Mob and includes Lord Fanny, a transgender Brazilian shaman; Boy, a former NYPD officer; the telepathic Ragged Robin; and Jack Frost, a Liverpool teenager who may be a messianic figure in disguise. Their opposition is the Outer Church and its Archons, interdimensional entities that have quietly subjugated much of humanity without its knowledge, framing the series' central conflict as a war of ideas and consciousness as much as a physical one. Deeply steeped in countercultural and occult ideas, the Invisibles' anarchist mission has made the series one of the most influential non-superhero works in the medium.
