Marvel just dropped one of the biggest X-Men reveals in years, DC K.O. delivered a moment fans will debate for months, and Supergirl is claiming Superman Day for herself. Here is what you need to know.
Storm Is Getting a Daughter
Marvel's May 2026 solicitations confirmed that Storm: Earth's Mightiest Mutant #4 will introduce Furaha, Storm's daughter, in what looks like her official comic debut. The issue, written by Murewa Ayodele with art by Federica Mancin, arrives May 6.
Furaha first appeared briefly in 2025's X-Men: Hellfire Vigil #1, but Storm: Earth's Mightiest Mutant #4 is where readers will see Storm and her child interact for the first time. Ayodele told AIPT's X-Men Monday that writing those scenes "brought me great pleasure."
The character's name is Swahili for "joy" or "happiness," a nod to Ororo's East African maternal heritage. As for who the father is, Marvel isn't saying yet, but fans have noticed Furaha's sharp canines and black hair. The leading theory points to Wolverine, given his long romantic history with Storm.
Note
Furaha's parentage has not been officially confirmed. The Wolverine connection is fan speculation based on visual clues from her first appearance.
This reveal comes during a significant stretch for Storm, who has ascended to the mantle of Eternal Storm and recently faced the Shinto storm god Susa-No-O-Izumo. Ayodele's run has steadily raised the stakes for Ororo, and adding a child to the mix could reshape her role across the X-line.
DC K.O. #4 Crosses a Line No One Expected

DC K.O. #4, released February 11, brought one of the most talked-about moments of the year. Batman killed the Joker.
Written by Scott Snyder with art by Javi Fernandez, the issue picks up where DC's tournament-style crossover event left off. The Joker defected to the Absolute Universe side, effectively becoming an "Absolute Joker," and faced Batman in a brutal rematch. Batman ended the fight the same way Joker killed him earlier in the series: a spike through the back with a flag reading "Bang!"
That is Batman breaking his most fundamental rule, and in a mainline DC event no less.
Before anyone panics: the Joker appears alive (if worse for wear) in Batman #6, and he is featured on the cover of Batman #7. DC's tournament has its own rules. The final issue, DC K.O. #5, hits stores March 4.
The separate tie-in series, DC K.O.: Knightfight by Joshua Williamson and Dan Mora, also wrapped with its fourth and final issue on February 4.
Supergirl Takes Over Superman Day
DC announced that Supergirl is taking over Superman Day on April 18, 2026. The date traditionally celebrates Superman's debut in Action Comics #1 (1938), but this year, Kara Zor-El gets the spotlight ahead of the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow film, which hits theaters June 26.
DC is calling it the Summer of Supergirl, and the April 18 releases include:
- Facsimile editions of Action Comics #1 (1938) and Action Comics #252 (1959, Supergirl's first appearance), both at $3.99
- Special editions of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow #1 (standard, foil-enhanced at $9.99, and blank sketch cover at $4.99)
- A new Supergirl #1 special edition reprint
- A preview sampler for Supergirl: The World, an anthology celebrating the character's global impact (full release in June)
- A deluxe hardcover of Tom King and Bilquis Evely's Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, with concept art and filmmaker interviews
Tip
If you are collecting Supergirl, mark April 18 on your calendar. The Action Comics #252 facsimile is especially worth grabbing as a piece of Supergirl history at cover price.
The film stars Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon) as Kara, directed by Craig Gillespie (Cruella), and adapts King and Evely's acclaimed 2021-22 miniseries. It is part of the DCU's Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
