Elvira Coot, known as Grandma Duck, is the matriarch of the Duck family in Disney comics. Al Taliaferro created her for the Donald Duck newspaper strip in the early 1940s. She runs a farm near Duckburg with her lazy grandnephew Gus Goose, and her lineage traces to Duckburg's founder Cornelius Coot.
