Marcus Wesphal

Marcus Wesphal is the protagonist of Image Comics five issue thriller Narco. He lives with a severe form of narcolepsy that drops him into sudden unconsciousness whenever his heart rate spikes from excitement or fear.

The condition has shaped his entire routine, pushing him toward a quiet, homebound life built around avoiding surprises. He works from home writing a true crime blog and keeps a distant, harmless interest in the woman living next door.

Marcus becomes the center of a police investigation after he witnesses her murder and blacks out during the incident. Waking to find himself treated as the primary suspect, he is forced to leave the safety of his apartment and piece together the fragments of memory his condition keeps stealing from him, all while trying to track down the person actually responsible.
