Master Splinter is the sensei and adoptive father of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Mirage Studios comics. Once a rat owned by ninjutsu master Hamato Yoshi, he learned by observing him. Mutated by the same ooze that transformed the turtles, he trained them in ninjutsu to avenge his master.
