Ratchet is an Autobot medic and one of the longest-serving Autobot characters across the Transformers franchise. First appearing in Marvel Comics' Transformers #1 in 1984, he served as the primary medical officer of the Autobot forces on Earth and was given an unusually prominent role in the Marvel series, acting as a central protagonist during several key storylines. He transforms into an ambulance and is among the most recognizable Autobots outside of the main trio.
