Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross is a high-ranking U.S. military general and the father of Betty Ross. He developed an intense fixation on capturing or destroying the Incredible Hulk, whom he saw as a grave danger. Driven by this long-standing obsession, Ross eventually underwent a transformation. He gained gamma powers, becoming the powerful Red Hulk.
