Brightwind is a winged Asgardian horse from the herds of Odin, bred to carry the Valkyrior. He bonded with the mutant Danielle Moonstar during the New Mutants' time in Asgard, choosing her as his rider and making her a Valkyrie in the process.
The bond between them is psychic as well as physical. Brightwind serves as Moonstar's mount and companion through her years with the New Mutants and beyond.
