Roland Desmond is a super-strong crime lord who took over Blüdhaven's underworld after undergoing experimental treatments that enhanced his physical abilities. He is known as the second Blockbuster and is the brother of the original Blockbuster, Mark Desmond. Roland's intelligence was later boosted through a demonic pact, allowing him to consolidate his criminal empire. He has clashed repeatedly with Nightwing and has been resurrected as a Black Lantern during supernatural events.
