Founded in 1934 as National Allied Publications, the company became known as DC after Detective Comics, the series that introduced Batman. Now part of Warner Bros. Discovery and headquartered in Burbank, California, DC publishes Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and other iconic characters.
The publisher produces monthly comics, graphic novels, and digital-first titles. Imprints include DC Black Label for mature creator-driven stories and Milestone Media. The retired Vertigo imprint launched Preacher, Y: The Last Man, and The Sandman.
