Run by Donald Welsh, Telepictures Publications was the New York magazine wing of TV firm Telepictures. Its first title, Muppet Magazine, came out in late 1982, and He-Man, She-Ra and GoBots magazines followed. Welsh took the company over in 1987 and gave it his own name.
