Geppetto is the woodcarver of the Pinocchio story, and in Bill Willingham's Fables he stands among the most consequential figures of the Homelands. His carving is not ordinary craft. Given the right timber he can shape living children out of wood, and Pinocchio was only the first of them.
He turns up across Disney comics and European Pinocchio adaptations as well, usually as the kindly old craftsman of the original folktale.
