Abe Jenkins

Abner Ronald Jenkins is a Marvel Comics character who began his career as the armored villain known as the Beetle. A gifted aircraft mechanic frustrated with his low-paying job, Jenkins built a mechanical suit and turned to crime, becoming a regular foe of Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four.

Jenkins later organized the Sinister Syndicate before being recruited by Helmut Zemo for the Thunderbolts. Under the new identity MACH-1, using a modified version of his Beetle armor designed for faster flight, Jenkins posed as a hero alongside other reformed villains. Unlike the original plan to exploit their heroic cover, Jenkins and most teammates chose to pursue legitimate heroism.

He surrendered to authorities to serve his outstanding sentence, later working for the government and becoming head of security at the Raft maximum security prison. Jenkins has used various iterations of the MACH identity throughout his career.
