Title cowboy of Tom K. Ryan's western gag strip, Tumbleweeds is a lanky, amiable drifter who calls the settlement of Grimy Gulch home. Broke, unlucky and pursued by Hildegard Hamhocker, he plays straight man to a cast of frontier eccentrics. The strip ran in American newspapers from 1965 to 2007.
