A Samoan mutant who can take on the properties of whatever he touches, becoming stone, steel, or wood at will. Mondo's place in X-Men history is unusually tangled: for most of his time with Generation X, the cheerful teammate the students knew was a plant-based duplicate grown by Black Tom Cassidy, while the real Mondo remained under Tom's control. He surfaced later fighting the same students who thought they had known him.
