Ernie the Eagle was the mascot of the relaunched British weekly Eagle from its first issue in March 1982, drawn by Dave Follows as a three-panel gag strip along the foot of the editorial pages. He was written as living on top of IPC's King's Reach Tower, so he could needle the comic from inside.
