Stanley Stewart gained supersonic speed after passing through a strange fogbank and took the name Whizzer as a founding member of the Squadron Supreme. Roy Thomas and John Buscema created him for Avengers #85 in 1971, and he later featured heavily in Mark Gruenwald's Squadron Supreme.
