Japanese manga artist from Shiga Prefecture who debuted in 2002 and is best known for D.Gray-man, a dark fantasy series that began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2004. The series follows an exorcist fighting demonic weapons called Akuma and placed multiple volumes among Japan's bestselling manga. It received the prize for Best Manga Series 2006 at the French Grand Prix organized by Animeland.
