Nate Powell is an American cartoonist known for kinetic black and white brushwork and for stories about adolescence, memory and protest. He drew the March trilogy with John Lewis and Andrew Aydin, becoming the first cartoonist to win a National Book Award. Swallow Me Whole, his 2008 breakthrough as writer and artist, took an Eisner.
His other solo books include Any Empire, Come Again and Fall Through. He has self-published since 1992 and also draws nonfiction adaptations and comics journalism.
