Kaiji Kawaguchi
Biography
Kaiji Kawaguchi is a Japanese manga artist, born July 27, 1948, in Onomichi, Hiroshima. He made his professional debut in 1968 and is known for seinen manga with political and military themes. His submarine thriller The Silent Service earned the Kodansha Manga Award in 1990. He is also known for Eagle, a political thriller set during an American presidential race, and Zipang, which won the Kodansha Manga Award in 2002. He has received the Kodansha Manga Award three times in total.
