Biography

Japanese manga artist born in 1941. He is best known for Star of the Giants (Kyojin no Hoshi), a baseball manga co-created with writer Ikki Kajiwara that was serialized from 1966 and adapted into a landmark anime series in 1968. He won the Kodansha Children's Manga Award for Star of the Giants and later the Kodansha Manga Award for Football Hawk.
